Digital writer, LFTO

Evie joined Live for the Outdoors as a Digital Content Writer in March 2025 and works across our hiking, trail running and camping content. She grew up in rural Cambridgeshire, surrounded by the East Anglian Alps (highest point: the mighty Chishill Hill, 146m). Fortunately, her parents are very outdoorsy, taking Evie and her siblings on lots of hiking and cycle touring adventures across Europe and beyond.

After a gap year working in France and Hungary, hiking in Slovenia and backpacking around Vietnam, she figured out where the closest hills were to Cambridge and decided to study there (Sheffield). At university, Evie dedicated herself wholeheartedly to pursuing a state of higher intellectual being, but also pursued the varied delights of hiking, trail running, climbing and gravel riding though the Peak District.

She’s worked on a farm in Corsica and an eco lodge in Hungary, but before joining LFTO had a desk job copywriting for an educational publishing company. Evie was Editor-in-Chief for a student-led public history magazine and has published writing in Our Words feminist magazine, Forge Press student newspaper and the Children’s Media Conference. Beyond the written word, she’s helped UN Women UK to make festivals a safer space and volunteered with displaced people in Calais.

Equally happy on a boggy Lake District trail run or a multi-day Alpine hike, Evie loves nothing more than being in high and remote places. She has strained her cardiovascular system on hundreds of steep inclines, from the Picos de Europa to the Atlas mountains. Evie is constantly inspired by the adventures of other women, both past and present, and is a keen advocate for making the outdoors accessible to everyone.
