Simon is a former Trail magazine and National Geographic Online editor. He's also the author of two critically acclaimed hillwalking books – Between the Sunset and the Sea and The Black Ridge – and has written for the Guardian Times, and Telegraph among many others. Mostly though, Simon just loves walking and camping in the mountains, and during his nine years as Trail's editor he climbed more of them than most of us could ever dream of. What he doesn't know about hillwalking isn't worth knowing, but please don't take his advice on nutrition because we swear we've never seen him eat anything apart from Monster Munch and KFC.
