Once a rare sight on the roads, roof tents have now become a lot more common, with several brands bringing multiple options to market. The trouble is, they cost significantly more than a standard two-person tent. Black Friday is over for 2024, but be sure to be back for more deals in 2025.
TentBox is one of the main players in roof tents, so much so that the word has become synonymous with the product itself, rather than just the brand.
If you're not familiar with this type of product, a roof tent is a contraption that attaches to roof bars on your car. It's packed away for when you're on the move, but when you stop for the evening, you simply unfold it to set up for the night.
LFTO's testing team has reviewed many roof tents over the years, including a number of options from TentBox.
There's a style to suit the needs of most circumstances, whether you're trying to cater for a small family or even just yourself.
With prices venturing well beyond £1,000, this sale season is a great opportunity to get yourself a roof tent at a discount, so here are our top TentBox Black Friday deals...
Below you can see some of the deals that were available on TentBox in 2024

The TentBox Cargo 1.0 may have been superseded by a newer version, but it's still a rugged and practical roof tent. It takes just 30 seconds to set up and you can leave your bedding inside when packed away. You can also add roof bars on top of the tent to carry things like bikes or surfboards.
This is the only TentBox to cost less than £1,000, so it's no surprise that it's more of a stripped-back offering. That said, it still comes with a mattress included and space for two adults. Set up takes just 60 seconds when you arrive at your destination, while a weight of 33kg makes it easier to take off and store.
As we've mentioned, the Cargo 2.0 is a newer version of the original Cargo, yet it's still got a hefty discount here, with over £500 off. It's been built with an aluminium exoskeleton, has upgraded materials and additional features such as a skylight, removable porch and skylight.

At £650, this is one of the cheapest (if not the cheapest) roof tents around. It should be suitable for most vehicles as it only weighs 40kg and folds out to set up. That said, the internal width of 110cm means it's not going to be as roomy as other options.
