If you’re a fan of Spanish sun, sea views and island life, a trail race set across the rugged landscape of Formentera could be your ideal racing holiday.

Sitting just six kilometres south of Ibiza, this widely untouched island is the smallest of the Balearic Islands, spanning just 19km along its length. This wild landscape is the setting for the Formentera All Round Trail races, which includes four distances: 10km, 21km, 42km and 72km.

Set in trail paradise, the Formentera All Round Trail (affectionately known as FART) travels along the white sandy coast of Formentera, starting and finishing in the Puerto de La Savina. With sights such as the lighthouse of Es Cap and La Mola, rocky turquoise coves, and dunes littered with swaying pine trees, Formentera is unlike anywhere you’ve ventured before.

On 15 and 16 April 2023, Formentera will again host the popular Formentera All Round Trail races, with runners gathering from all over the world to take part in the unique races.

The headliner race, this 73km trail adventure starts at the port of La Savina, one of the island’s main towns. During this race, you’ll have the chance to completely circumnavigate the island. The route is marked by sandy beaches, cliffs, rocks and passes through its two most famous lighthouses: Cap de Barbaria and La Mola.
